Alternatives
7 Podium alternatives for sales teams
Podium is a strong choice for a local business that lives on inbound leads and reviews, and its AI employee is the product now. Teams look for alternatives when they cannot get a price without a sales call, when they need outbound campaigns rather than inbound handling, or when per-location pricing does not fit a sales floor. Here are the realistic options, with each platform's published entry price.
1. Signilio our product
from $34.99/mo (Starter) for 1,000 textsSignilio is a compliant bulk SMS platform for high-volume sales teams: mass texting campaigns, a two-way team inbox, and 10DLC registration built in. Plans in dollars, not credits, from $34.99 a month — every feature on every plan, carrier fees included.
- Pricing: monthly plans in dollars with texts included, $0.040 down to $0.030 per extra text, carrier fees included, every feature on every plan
- Users: 2 seats on Starter, 5 seats on Growth, 15 seats on Pro
- Numbers and 10DLC: 1/3/10 numbers included, extra $1/mo each; registration handled during onboarding
- Inbox: two-way team inbox, replies assigned and worked together
Best for: outbound sales teams that want a bill in dollars, every feature without a tier upgrade, and the compliance work done for them.
2. Text Request
$59.00/mo (Basic) for 1,000 messagesText Request is a two-way texting inbox for small businesses with a fair headline: $59 a month for 1,000 texts, unlimited users, and 10DLC filed for you. Between that and the $2,750 top plan the ladder is published only as an image, the overage rate is not stated, and some features people expect, scheduled messages and keywords, are paid add-ons. Signilio publishes all three plans, from $34.99 a month for 1,000 texts to $189.99 for 12,000, with scheduling and keyword replies on every plan. The estimator can price only the two rungs Text Request states in text, so treat it as a floor and a ceiling.
- Pricing: Monthly plans tiered by message volume, from $59 for 1,000 texts to $2,750 for 250,000; unlimited users; $10 a month per extra text line
- Users: Unlimited users and contacts on most plans; no per-user charge
- 10DLC: Text Request submits your 10DLC registration; approval "can take several weeks"; fees not published
- Inbox: shared inbox included
Best for: Small teams doing two-way customer conversations with unlimited users at a low entry price.

3. Salesmsg
$25.00/mo (Basic 500) for 500 messagesSalesmsg is the closest of the marketing-and-inbox tools to what Signilio does: two-way business texting for revenue teams, with calling and CRM integrations in the same seat. It is priced as a credit plan with one seat and one number included, and carrier fees, 10DLC fees, extra seats and extra numbers all bill separately. Signilio is a monthly plan in dollars with carrier fees and 2 to 15 seats included, built for outbound campaigns at volume rather than CRM-native conversations. A team that lives in its CRM and calls as much as it texts should look hard at Salesmsg; a team sending tens of thousands of outbound texts a month will usually find Signilio's bill lower, and the estimator below shows by how much.
- Pricing: Basic and Pro monthly plans sized by credits (500 to 50,000) with one seat and one number included; annual billing gives two months free; carrier and 10DLC fees billed separately
- Users: 1 seat included; $10 a month per additional seat
- 10DLC: Brand registration $4.50, secondary vetting $44 and campaign verification $15 one-time, then $10 a month per campaign, passed through (their help center); registered from the app
- Inbox: shared inbox included
Best for: Texting and calling inside the CRM: if your reps work from a CRM all day, the native integrations and call features are the product.

4. Textline
$149.00/mo (Essentials) for 600 messagesTextline is a well-built shared inbox for support and sales teams, sold as a monthly plan with a few agents and a few hundred credits included, and priced so that seats are the real cost: $50 to $70 a month per extra agent, $15 a month per campaign and per extra number, and credits that expire at the end of the cycle. Signilio includes 2 to 15 seats by plan, extra numbers at $1 and texts priced in dollars, from $34.99 a month for 1,000. On Textline's entry plan the included credits work out to about 25 cents a message and add-ons are 3 cents; for a sales team with several reps sending at volume, the estimator shows the difference.
- Pricing: Monthly plans with a few agents and a few hundred credits included; extra agents $50 to $70 a month; add-on credits $0.03; $15 a month per 10DLC campaign
- Users: 3 agents on Essentials, 5 on Pro; extra agents $50 or $70 a month

5. Heymarket
$24.00/user/mo (Standard, minimum 2) plus credits from $0.030Heymarket is a shared inbox priced per user with message credits bought on top, and campaigns only from the Plus plan up. For a two-person support team that is fine; for a sales floor it means $49 to $75 a month per seat before a single credit, then 3 cents a credit that falls to 1.5 cents past 50,000. Signilio's plans include 2 to 15 seats and the texts in one dollar price, carrier fees included, with campaigns on every plan. The estimator prices the whole Heymarket bill at your team size.

7. MessageDesk
$39.00/user/mo (Team, minimum 3)MessageDesk sells the simplest bill here: one per-user price, unlimited messaging, numbers free, registration included, nothing else on the invoice. The shape is the catch for a sales team. Team at $39 a user is one-to-one texting only, and Pro at $99 a user sends broadcasts a hundred people at a time, on an annual contract. Signilio's plans are month to month, from $34.99 a month for 1,000 texts to $189.99 for 12,000 with 15 seats, and every plan sends campaigns to a whole list. For a small support team the flat seat is attractive; the estimator prices the seats a sales floor would need.
- Pricing: Per-user plans with unlimited messaging on an annual contract: Team at $39 a user with a three-user minimum for one-to-one texting, Pro at $99 a user for broadcasts to 100 people at a time
- Users: Priced per user: Team $39 with a three-user minimum, Pro $99 with a one-user minimum, on an annual contract

How to choose
Start from what you send. A marketing broadcast to a list that opted in on your website is what most texting platforms are built for: keyword opt-ins, subscriber growth tools, scheduled promotions. A monthly plan with a bundle of credits fits that well and is predictable at small volume.
Outbound sales texting is a different job. Volume is higher, every reply needs a person on it fast, and the team works the conversations together. There, the bill is decided by three things: the real cost per message once you are past the bundle, whether you pay for every rep who needs the inbox, and whether 10DLC registration is handled or handed to you.
Compare total cost per message with every fee included, at the volume you will actually send. The pricing guide explains segments and the fees that hide in a "cheap" rate, and the cost calculator tells you how many segments your message really is.
Common questions
- What is the best Podium alternative for a sales team?
- It depends on what you send. For a team running outbound campaigns at volume and working the replies together, a platform priced in dollars with a shared inbox, every feature on every plan and 10DLC handled for you — which is what Signilio is — usually fits the workflow better than a marketing-broadcast tool sold in credits; compare the bills at your own volume, because the cheaper one depends on it. For subscriber marketing to an opted-in list, a marketing-first platform may fit better; each option above says who it suits.
- Why do teams move away from Podium?
- The reasons we hear are the ones on this page: a monthly bundle that gets expensive as volume grows, charges for extra users or extra messages, and a product built around broadcasts rather than two-way sales conversations. Podium is a good product for what it is built for; the question is whether that is what your team does.
- How hard is it to switch platforms?
- Harder than it should be on most platforms because 10DLC registration has to be redone for the new provider. Onboarding is white-glove. We'll register your brand, configure your numbers, and get your first campaign out the door with you.
